How many of us must have thought about getting a new cell phone, but ended up scrapping the plan due to the high cost of cell phones. Even though the cell phone industry is one the rise these days and the business of selling cell phones is booming, still the amount of money one has to pay to get a good quality cell phone is too much.

Well, the time is here when price is no longer going to be an issue when getting a new cell phone with advanced features. Why? This has been possible because of the emergence of cheap and feature laden China cell phones in the market. But going by the present day scenario, the phones that are on offer by these multinational companies are still too costly and provide far less number of features when compared to Chinese wholesale cell phones of the same genre.

So what features are being offered by these China cell phones that have made their presence felt in the market by giving some tough competition to the multinational phone manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, etc. Well for starters a base level Chinese cell phones may offer features such as touch screen, multiple speakers, speakerphone, Bluetooth, music player and expandable memory and that too at a very affordable price whereas for the same price you would only be able to get a Nokia or Motorola phone having just a simple address book and a small message inbox and may be a torchlight. Now talking about the higher end phone models. A high end Chinese wholesale cell phones may offer features such as Global Positioning System, live television, 3G capability, dual sim card configuration, WiFi support, high resolution camera with LED flash, expandable memory, etc and that too at a price that is about a quarter of the price of a phone having the same features manufactured and sold by one of the big multinational phone manufacturer.

Now, let us talk about the quality of these cheap cell phones. Well there is a notion in the peoples' minds that these cheap cell phones are of an inferior quality that is why they are being sold at such a low price. Well this is a myth and a rumour spread by large multinational cell manufacturers to protect their market base and their business. Chinese wholesale cell phones are cheap because of the fact that they are manufactured in China where labour is quite cheap and the raw materials are less costly. In addition, the Chinese government provides support to these manufacturers thus reducing the cost of production further. It should be noted that Chinese cell phones are not of sub standard quality and each handset is checked and its quality assured before being shipped. Thus, there is no need to worry about the quality of the handset while buying one of these low cost Chinese phones.

Therefore, the whole debate comes to the question of what is the future of the telecommunication industry. The answer is quite clear. There is going to be widespread emergence of these Chinese cheap cell phones and these are going to outnumber those manufactured by multinationals if the multinationals do think of new strategies to counter the effect of these phones entering the market. The companies would need to reduce prices and offer more features if they have to keep up with the competition being offered by these cheap but high-end phones.
