Reasons to Switch to a Prepaid Cell Phone?
The answer to the question asked in the title is, yes. But only if it makes sense. It will make sense for some people to use prepaid cell phones. For others it will make sense to stay on the contract model, especially if there are several people on one plan.
Many of the large cell Phone Service companies now offer prepaid cell phone plans--when formerly, all they offered were the standard contract model, for which you sign up for two years and get stuck in the cycle of upgrading to a new phone and of course signing another contract.
There are a lot of different routes to take when you are looking for alternatives to the traditional contract model. Prepaid cell phones or pay-as-you-go options may just be the way for you to go in terms of your mobile communications.
AT&T merged with Cingular and they now bill themselves as having the largest network in the United States. This may be true. Whatever the case may be, there are also several other competitors that you can look at to try to find the best deal for you and your family.
Boost mobile is definitely a contender for your business as is the Alltel network. Virgin Mobile also operates on a pay-as-you-go cell phone model, so this may be a viable option for you as well.
Boost Mobile offers one great feature, which is the free walkie-talkie service from one user to another. This is included in all plans. Virgin Mobile is the British company owned by Richard Branson. It is a very youth oriented company, as is Boost Mobile, and has some good options for younger cell phone users.
The truth is you can sort of customize your cell phone plan to be close to how you actually use it. You don't have to get stuck with a whole bunch of minutes you don't use at the end of the month.
As you can see, there are many well known companies that you can find prepaid cell phone plans with. The company you choose completely depends on what you want out of your mobile phone.
The beauty of the prepaid model as opposed to the contract model is that there is no commitment (other than what you spend on the actual phone) so it is fairly painless to move from one service to another if you are dissatisfied with the service.
All companies that offer prepaid cell phone plans require you to use a phone that works with their service. The cell phone itself may be pricey, but generally there are many different models to choose from.
Using a prepaid cell phone means that you do not have to undergo a credit check from the company or sign a long term contract--but this doesn't mean it's the right option for you.
People who are on a shared plan and have a lot of minutes each month or carryover minutes often find the best deal by signing a contract and using that model of service. Another perk to this type of service is you are often offered a free cell phone or a discounted newer model when you sign up for a new contract.
You want to take out your cell phone bills over the past several months and see how many minutes you use consistently, and take into account things like mobile to mobile free usage, how many carryover minutes you get, the cost of a new phone, and the other costs and fees involved.
If it makes sense, make the switch to prepaid. You can always sign another contract later!

What to do for my boyfriend?
My boyfriend is leaving July 23 to go on a cruise with his family. We have been dating for a little over 6 months and he means so much to me but while he is actually on the cruise he won't have cell phone service or internet use...what could I send with him to open each day that I can't talk to him to remind him how much I love him? I have some money to spend if need be but I want something simple to pack in his suitcase but something cute, too!

Do you Think this will Persuade my Parents to get me the iPhone?
I really want the iPhone and my parents aren't that sure about letting me have one! I have 4 in the past 2 years NOT because I lost them or they were stolen...because my dad just kept giving me new ones! I am very responsible I babysit very regularly, and I'm allow to go places without my parents...because they trust me! I wrought a paper which I can change into a powerpoint also! With sprint service for only $10/m more I can get data that I won?t even use! I will pay from my OWN account so you guys don?t have to pay anything extra since I already have a plan!

Here?s why I want the iPhone!
1) With the new iPhone has the new A5 chip that means greater and better graphics! Also the GPU is 7x faster than the chip in the iPhone 4! With all this these will improve apps and especially games!
2) The camera on this amazing phone is better than the iPhone 4 with an 8mp camera it can take 3264 x 2448 photos...that?s 60% more pixels than the iPhone 4?s camera! With the 3264 x 2448 photos that means you could print out crystal clear 8 x 10 photos!
3) The new iPhone is capable of capturing full HD video which means 1080p rather than the iPhone 4?s video which was only HD video or 720p! The iPhone also comes with pro features like temporal noise reduction, which helps you record in lowlight situations, and also image stabilization!
4) Siri...the new iPhones little in phone personal assistant! Siri is great...but is annoying to (yea I admitted it)! But the great thing is that Siri can answer just about anything you throw at her! The annoying thing is some times she doesn?t understand and puts some retarded question that makes you look like a complete idiot!
5) The battery life even with the new A5 dual core processer, 8mp camera, and the always ready sometimes annoying Siri apple still got the great battery life EVERYONE needs! On this phone I would be able to get 8 hours on 3g, 14 hours on 2g (when we?re with them country folk), and when I?m not using it then it gets 200 hours of standby!
WHY YOU SHOULD SAY YES!
I will do extra chores if needed or wanted, I will pay for half of the phone AND the extra $10/m for data so I can use it, and I will do anything else!
SAFETY
If you really think I would let anyone take this amazing phone out of my hands, pockets, or bag for one moment...that very moment you had gone crazy! I know how much this phone is going to cost you and me! And if someone were stupid enough to TRY and ATTEMPT to steal it I will make sure they don?t! My case for KI will have and I quote ?phone will self destruct in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1? so NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can get my phone!

having a problem finding out my court date?
well I have a traffic ticket and need to go to court for it. problem is I don't know when the court date is and I can't reach anyone at the court house. I know that it will be at the Lancaster Ca. court house but it's not like I can just walk in and ask because I live in another state. To top it off their phone service is just automated and doesn't tell me my court date.
Can anyone give me some useful advice?
lancaster's court does not have one that I can find.
